Lets start with lunch !

On Saturday the KHS met for lunch at Claire's, which was delish as usual!!  Above pictures are testament to that!  It was also a birthday month for Nancy and the month we all had to bring along an easy project that was do able in a month!  It was so exciting and really varied, so who ever we where sitting next too, our project went to the left of us!
Nick's whisk.

Nancy stitched a pillow

Michelle made pumpkins

I did a Christmas decoration. (thanks Cheryl)

And Claire stitched a pillow.
Varied right?? So my project for the up coming month is the whisk which Nicky made!  We can alter any way we like? I think this is going to be so interesting!
Nancy and her whisk made by Nicky for her Birthday.
Nancy's birthday loot.
I did warn you Claire, this photo would come out
all tongue and boobs!
The table was as usual all beautifully set!
Well not much crafting from me folks as I am painting!!!  And can I say I HATE PAINTING!!! I really do, it is taking me so much longer than I thought, but it is an big area, I will put up photos in a day or two as I am finishing one small space!
Enjoy your week and I hope it is craftier than mine!!

All hearts.

I decided this year, if possible I was going to finish one project before I started another project.  This is actually really hard to do, I seem to get bored with one project so start another!  I am sure this will not last all year, but here is my beginning of the year attempt!  Above is an angel table topper that Claire gave me quite some time ago, it is now all stitched, but not fully finished!  And above that is the quilt I started............................well we don't need to know when I started, we just need to know that I have now finished all the hand stitching and have cut out most of the squares and I am excited to see this come together, watch this space!

Can't believe that myself, my Mum, my Aunty Val and her sister Janis did this workshop last week, yes I know it has taken me a week to blog!!  It was a fun way to spend a couple of hours in great company creating something for our homes.  Above is mine and below ...................

Aunty Val
Well it is a wet day here in the 'naki', so it might just have to be a sewing day!!  Enjoy your Wednesday, I have just noticed with the photo's that we all did something with an heart!

Just the push I needed!

Yes, yesterday I got just the push I needed to get my crafting mojo into gear!  I met up with the KHS for our first meeting this year!  It was so great catching up, although I still don't think we covered all three months since we last met!  We met at a local cafe in Hawera called the 'Black and White'and had a lovely breakfast of eggs benedict!  Then off to Wildflowers quilting shop ( for a little fabric therapy!!)  and then back to Claire's for a cuppa!  It was a fantastic day and just what I needed!!  It was also a wee birthday catch up as well - for me!!! Back in January another year ticked over - I was so spoilt!
Nicky gave me this  gorgeous box, plus the soap, wax scent and
very cool hanging rabbit'n égg! Below

Nancy gave this hand cream and beautifully scented candle.

Claire gave me this stitchery, a good couple of meters
of gorgeous fabric! Cross stitched by Claire.
And also this gorgeous kero lamp.

Above is the gorgeous bee plates and tea towel that Michelle gave me!  Love the bees!! The tea towel is too nice to use so thought I may make into two pillows instead??? maybe?????
So when we arrived at Claire's she said she had been working hard and had a surprise for us and a surprise it was...............Claire had painted her timber entrance, kitchen and dinning room white!!! It is such a difference............................. but it is beautiful!

Claire  in her fresh kitchen!!

More of Claire's goodies!!!

So thanks KHS, it was a fab day and am now feeling all inspired!!

Flying thru the year!!

Hello again, I can't believe how time has flown!!  It is the 2nd of March already!!!  So much has been happening but sadly not a lot of crafting!  Last night I finished my magazine stand which I brought with a Christmas voucher-thanks Mum and Dad, but didn't like the yellow wood. But with some black chalk paint, a little wax and some tea dyed doily's, it now has a place to call home.  I am so happy with the finish!

On Saturday I am meeting with the KHS, which will be our first meeting since Christmas!! ( I believe Claire has been crafting up a storm, so will get photos! and Nick has finished a quilt!!!) I am so excited, I have missed the inspiration of the girls! I am in need of that at the moment!!
Gardens have been filling in most of my time as well as a new part time job of a personal care giver.

Stock work of course!!

Lots of hay, on the dairy farm I milk on.

And shocking weather here in February, made a hell of a mess!
I had fallen tree's and they make such a mess!
And the water, my poor spouting couldn't keep up!!

And now the garden's are starting to look messy again!  So now is clean up time!  I do love my gardens from October to the end of January, but now they are just work!!
Well it was great to quickly catch up, hopefully I more blog more regularly now.
Take care,
Michelle.
