A Good Day

I have had a good day today which started with a cuppa tea and a yummy blueberry muffin at Claire's this morning.  I always feel so good when I leave Claire's, so inspired and ready to craft!  She is a special friend !  But I also left Claire's with some goodies as well, a pattern I need for SSCS and some treasures to add to my treasure!!  (As I told Mike-you can never have too many treasures !!!!)
Not a lot of crafting to show you as I am busy stitching my SSCS, but I have been really busy in the garden and thought I would show you what I have been up too as the flowers are starting to come.

Mike and I spent the night in New Plymouth for our anniversary and when we arrived at our accommodation I was greeted with these beautiful roses one for each year!  I was truly spoilt!
Well I am off to feed calves and then water my garden, enjoy what is left of your Wednesday, Michelle.

Good tears

Today is my/our 20th Wedding Anniversary, it is truly hard to believe it has been 20 years!  When I used to hear people say 'the older you get the faster time flys!', I use to laugh at them !  But the older I get (41 years so far), the more I realise that this statement does seem so right!!  I also think once you have kids the years seem to disappear-maybe the fact you are so busy with them, work and life they do evaporate before you know it.
And if you are wondering what that beautiful cake mixer is that is my pressie from hubby this morning, I have been looking for a while but only looking.  I did wonder this morning what was in the huge box.  A secret trip to town while I was at KHS for the day !  I also got a beautiful card with all the right words in it, (I am so a card person-little does he know I have kept every card he has ever given me-sentimental fool -am I), but this is not what brought me to tears, feeling very spoilt with my pressie he told me to close my eyes and gave me a little box...................you see, he is the practical one (hence the cake mixer) and I am the sentimental one,

but in this box is the most gorgeous 18ct gold ring with 5 diamonds.  Good tears, did begin to flow!  We have often joked over the years about my budget engagement ring-which by the way I love and would never part with, but we where just 2 fools in love who had no money but wanted to spend the rest of our lives together and brought what we could afford and I love it , but Mike always wished he could have afforded something better.  So what better way than to buy me a ring he had always wanted too for our 20th anniversary.
This is a good day here in the naki so I hope you have a great day also, Michelle

Selvage challenge

On Friday we met at Michelle's for our monthly meet and our challenge this month was to make something from selvages.  And I loved what everyone made...................................
My journal cover.

Claire's gorgeous pillow.

Nicky's beautiful lamp.

Michelle's pretty pot holder.

Loraine's cute mug rug.
As usual we had a fab lunch and lots of chatter and laughs!  I also took a photo of Michelle's hutch and her almost finished runner.

How spoilt am I ?

This beautiful new shelf is what my talented youngest son brought home yesterday!  This is Cody's project from wood work at school.  I just love it!  I am just waiting to hang it on the wall.  This isn't what I have planed to go on it, but I thought I would dress it for it's own photo shoot !   I am so lucky that I have talented young men in this house!  If you are in NZ have a great long weekend, Michelle.

Half way thru

Where does the time go ??  I have been busy in the garden and yet I look around and the task of gaining control back of my garden is endless !  But on the stitching front I am half way thru the stitchery above and even thou it is all in black I like the mindless stitching, as it is an effort to stitch at night.   Today I came across some fabric when tidying up my stitching patch, I brought this fabric in an sale at the Fat Quarter shop, it was a kit and I didn't like the kit but liked the fabric, (so I will show more soon, as it is still in the planing stage.)
Also last week I was asked to make a top for a 50th birthday cake and below is what I came up with. (He is into pig hunting)
Well better go and attack this garden again.  Have a good Wednesday, Michelle.
