Rugby trip

Well I have been away for a couple of days on a rugby trip.  My oldest son Ben(15) was selected for the 1st 15 rugby team for Stratford High School as a reserve prop.  It was the Jack Porter trophy and was held at the Tararua College in Pahiatua.  He got on the field in the two games and done himself and us proud! It was a great experience for him and was an enjoyable couple of days away. I love the photo of my Dad showing Ben how to tie a tie! All the boy's looked great in their dress pants, white shirts and blazers and tie!
While in Pahiatua I did find a quilting shop it was called The Crafty Pear they are not on the internet but are worth a look if you are going thru!  We also came across a cheesecake company in Woodville who delivery nationwide, the areYummy Mummy's cheesecakes. And I can certainly recommend the CARAMEL!
And we have the raspberry and white chocolate to try tonite!
Did I mention that they have free delivery overnight!
Enough from me now because I have afew things I want to finish to show you in the next couple of days.
Happy stitching, Michelle.

Packing..........but ........

I am supposed to be packing up my craft room because I am getting it painted! But as I am packing I am finding things yet to be finished and this wee pillow was one.  Can't remember when I started this project, but  all I had to do to finish was sew it together and stuff it! All done, so lets go and see what else I can find.
Happy stitching, Michelle.

A catch up

On Wednesday our stitching group met at the other Michelles place.  It was a great day, (I got more stitching done there than at Claire's!) We met Michelle's lovely family-the kids are very cute. And we also met a friend of Claire's who has a gorgeous blog, her name is Jacqui  and her blog is magpie chic, very cool blog, pop over and have a look it is well worth it! Claire surprised us all with lots of finishes.....the pressure is now on!!
Her finishes are beautiful.  Michelle also showed us her new patterns and her sewing room.................it was so tidy and organised(I am worried about her!) Look at it! No I am just jealous, I wish I was that organised!

We then had a yummy lunch, steak, sausages and salad and then a very yum chocolate brownie! How could I stitch after that, I was so full, I should of did what her husband did, look at the photo of him (Michael and Jessie that photo is for you!) So all and all a great day!
Happy stitching, Michelle.

For the love of Sepia

I love the look of sepia,
maybe because it makes
everything look antique!

By hook or by crook

A finish!Thank goodness, I have finally finished this quilt, well the binding really.  I finished this quilt some months ago and sent it off to be quilted, but when I got it back, it wasn't quilted the way I asked it to be.  So I put it in the back of the cupboard, it was quilted nicely but I had an image in my head and it doesn't look like what I wanted but..............................I have finally gotten over it and decided this morning that by hook or by crook I would bind it today!  And by lunch  time I have!!
Another finish down it does feel good and last nite while watching rugby with the boys I made some peach jam.  There is a small tree down the farm and I managed to get enough to make a small lot of jam! (The possums won't be happy that I stole the last of the peaches!) And I also did afew pickled onions-my boy's love them!  Well the digger is here today also, doing afew jobs, so I went for a look and took these few photo's from the back of the farm, this is my favourite spot on the farm................the view is amazing, have a look for yourself.

Well I better head off and do some more sewing while I can,
Happy stitching, Michellle.

Scales- I am addicted!

No sewing this weekend which I really have missed, instead I did my domestic duty and cleaned and dusted!! Not much fun, but I did enjoy the rearranging my treasures.  And there are afew new ones as I went to Hawera on Thursday to an antique auction which was great!!! The brass scales on the left are new and a bargain!  And I have come to the conclusion that 'I am addicted to old scales!' Everywhere through the kitchen and lounge are scales.  So this afternoon while thinking about what to blog about I thought I would take afew photos of my scales. So I hope you enjoy these photo's and I hope you all had a great weekend sewing!  Happy stitching, Michelle.
