A gorgeous country room

My friend Claire has been redecorating her house and it has been an amazing transformation to watch!  But out of all the rooms this one is my favourite, I could just sit in this room all day!  So instead of keeping this haven to myself I thought I would share it with you!  When Julie from Threadbear Cottage was down a few weeks ago we had big plans the two of us to fill our cars, there was so many goodies out of this room that we would love!  but our plans were foiled when Claire would not leave alone!!

Claire you are gifted and talented and this room is amazing!  We are lucky to have you in our lives as a friend and  to inspire us!!!
Enjoy your weekend folks,
Michelle.

Drill a hole in it

I know it sounds weird but thanks to Claire that was our theme for this months KHS.

These are my two projects, the top photo is my first project, it is actually an old bread board painted and then I have drilled holes in the bottom and attached an old kitchen utensil (which for the life of me now I can't think of the name of it-you use it to put butter into flour?????) I will hang a tea towel from it.  Then I put an old rusty sieve with a bird nest on it for decoration.  My second project was for my Christmas challenge that I have set myself. I think I will make a green and red candle mat for it to sit on.

Our day was at Claire's house as Nicky was supposed to host it but she is in the middle of packing!!! yuk!!! So as usual we have a beautiful morning tea and lunch of Amish cake and then home made pizza -so yummmmmmmy!!!  So this is Claire's project is below,
'
a pallet coffee table-it makes the room look so big!! She painted it white with a union jack in pale pink! You can also see a canvas heart she made for her mum as it was Nancy's birthday month-she is so easy to spoil !

This jewel heart has so many personal items on it and the fairy lights make it gorgeous!
This is Nickys project for last month with all the packing she is yet to find time for this months!   Now Michelle made this light box which will be very handy and she all made the heart air freshener which she gave to Nancy, it was very cute and smelled divine!!

Now my last photo is of the kids that were there, they are all so cute, all under quilts on the couch!
It was another fabulous day, I look forward to next month-which has a Pinterest theme???
Have a great day, Michelle.

I know..........but it's a finish !

I know everyone is sick of Christmas and it doesn't seem that long ago, but Christmas is only 256 days away!!! But I have finished my March Christmas project and he is totally gorgeous but he was very time consuming, way more than I realised, but in saying that, he is a favourite!!

I am not totally sold on the holly on his hat, but what do you think?  but I love all his rusty bells and his rusty pin in his pants.  I see in the photo his legs look like they are different lengths-panic attack!!! It is fine, it must have been the angle of the photo, just checked his legs and they are the same length!  Now I have to get the brain thinking 'drill a hole in it' which is our theme this month for KHS.  I am also thinking small for this months Christmas challenge.  Just realised it is Friday, so have a great weekend, Michelle.

Good Friends

Last Friday I had a fantastic day!  I went to Claire's for lunch as she had a special guest, it was Julie from 'Threadbear Cottage'.  It was a great day, catching up, eating and having a tour around Claire's house which is always fun.  I am always looking for what is new, where she has used her op shop finds and of course new ideas for myself!  And I was not disappointed as Claire had finished tidying up her back room - which is truly gorgeous!
The sun was so bright, the photo does not do this room justice!

Love the curtain.

A vase hanging in the middle of a picture frame-gorgeous!
Claire has slowly been changing her rooms in her house, each has a theme and each gets more gorgeous! Although she has one room to go and that is her country/prim room which is my favourite, can't wait to see this one finished!  As you can see she has a way to go, as she can't even get into it yet!!! It is even spilling into the hall way!!

Then it was onto lunch, which I tried to help with, I made some raspberry muffins...............
which I brought to Claire's in an old colander dressed with doilies.
It was a fab day, thanks ladies, it was great to catch up with Julie, Nancy and Claire.  Not sure this coming Friday is going to be as good as last week, but we will have to wait and see.  Enjoy your week, Michelle.

Thursday 4 April 2013

So finally got my stitchery back from the framers and although it is not what I envisioned I am still happy and love it hanging under my clock.
At present I am trying to finish a Santa I started for my March project (I am making one project a month so at Christmas I will have 11 new projects to display!! ), so hopefully today I can get him finished!  But I have been stitching this over the last few nights
it is a pattern from Michelle- ' Rag-tag stitchin'.  The colours are not that clear, but yummy red, green, brown and black.  Well I hope you all have a great Thursday, Michelle.
