Special Friends..............

I have realised that I have some special, thoughtful friends !  When little surprises they do for you come as a surprise ! Even more special.  On Monday I was talking to Claire and she was going to visit after tea to look at my house all done up for Christmas.  I had put a leg of meat on for a roast that night so an invite for tea was given.  An hour or so later Claire and her hubby Peter turned up.  It was a great night.  And at some stage during the night Claire had left me a surprise, a gorgeous surprise!!!
Is he not GORGEOUS!!!  Thanks Claire, your thoughtfulness means a lot !
And there is more, on Friday in the mail I received a parcel from Australia.  It was more thoughtfulness from someone I consider a friend but have yet to met !  Her name is Sonia and she was my swap partner in chookys SSCS last year.
I was so excited!! Thanks Sonia it meant a lot.  It has taken pride of place on the Christmas tree and when one of my tall sons return ,it will take its place at the top of the tree.  I feel lucky to have such nice friends.

Early morning!

I had a very, very early morning this morning! When Mike set the alarm last night he must of pushed a button that added an hour to it!  So this morning when the alarm went off a 4am...............it was really 3am!!!!!  When I started milking I looked at the clock and just thought the batteries where going flat.  But when I came home for breakfast the house was quiet.  Everyone was still asleep so I headed out and deadheaded my roses and watered the garden and pulled a few weeds.  When I heard noise inside I came in and checked the alarm and it was an hour fast! (Mike is feeling guilty at the moment-note to self- need to use this moment to my advantage!)
But lets continue the tour before I fall asleep......................

This is a favourite Santa as he is made out of paper.
Sorry this is so photo heavy!  We have our KHS Christmas meeting tonight - I am really looking forward to it!  Enjoy your weekend and I will be back soon with more of the tour.

I'm dreaming of a red and white christmas

And that is it 'I'm dreaming of a red and white Christmas'!  As the tour continues, this is our bedroom.  I do so love the red and white and it is coming together every year better and better.

I think I need to make a red and white pram quilt for next year?  Not much to say for a change I think the photo's have done all my work for me.
Have a wonderful day, Michelle.

What a couple of days and SSCS

Well the last couple of days has been a bit of a blurrrrrrrrrrr!!  It started Monday morning when the alarm went off a 4am for milking.  I went to milk and Mike was off to Te Kuiti to shear our lambs, all well and then I get an SOS call from Mike.  He had climbed over a fence and wasn't sure what he had done but he couldn't walk which meant he couldn't drive!  So I got the neighbour to milk (as both the boys are away working) and then started the 3 hour trip to pick Mike up.  Luckily I called into mum and dad's for a quick break and mum decided to come with me and drive a car back!! Thanks mum-I love you!!
By the time we finished the stock work and a few other jobs we got home that night at 10.30pm.  Then I was up early to milk and then take Mike to the doctor to see what he had done??  I was a little stressed as I had a quilting group from New Plymouth/Hawera coming to view the house all done up for Christmas and I had lots I wanted or needed to get done before they arrived.  No such luck by the time I got home with Mike from the doctors I had half an hour......................................
So 19 ladies turned up to visit the house - they where really lovely ladies it was fun!! My house was very full (it is quite small ) I really enjoyed there visit!
There is my lovely hubby who is on crutches now and will be out of action for 2 weeks - it will be a long 2 weeks as he doesn't do relax and sitting around very well - especially when I am milking and doing his chores! (I must be going to get a really good Xmas pressy thou!!!)
And this morning my SSCS parcel arrived from the lovely Shari I opened my decoration and it was this very cute gingerbread man
And my main pressie looks interesting, can't wait to open it! Roll on Christmas!  (I do love the paper it is wrapped in!)
Well I am off to check out Shari's blog, have a great day, Michelle.

Gingers - my favourite display.....

It is hard to pick a favourite but this year I think it is this display, I love gingerbread men and women!  But only the cute ones, there are so many ugly ones!  And this is in my kitchen (just a little side tracked - I was starting my tour with the bedrooms!!)

There are lights throughout out this pine and you can just see them-but at
night they look gorgeous!

Also another small finish, since bunting is big this year and I saw this very cute fabric at the local quilt shop,so I thought why not make one.
A close up of my favourite .......................

Have a great weekend, Michelle.

Two and a bit finishes................

I started Ben's room last week and was missing something! A prim snowman, so over the last few days I have made this delicious snowman, and I am now happy with his room..........well for now anyway!

Another finish was this blue stitchery, finished the stitchery a month ago and was unsure what to do with it, but Claire suggested I make him into a standing doll and I am very happy with the out come....................
And finally my bit finish is this wee felt mouse which was a free download, he is so dam cute...........
So I hope you all have a great weekend and in the next couple of days I will be back with more of my Christmas house tour, Michelle.
