Christmas UFO

Is it this time of year? or is it me but life seems to be busy at the moment! Or is it that things get left to the end of the year??  With that said, I picked up my red and white parcel quilt on Friday and started to sew the binding on.
The stitching is amazing, Christmas trees,
snowmen, bells, angels all my favourites.

While looking for something else I found this Nancy Halvorsen UFO.  Actually found two projects, this one I finished first and the other which between you and I is looking more like my favourite I will show tomorrow as I have to finish the binding.

It is alittle cute, just a panel and the angels, animals etc you fuse to felt then cut out and glue a loop to the back so you can attach to buttons or bells you sew on your panel.
I am having abit of trouble replying to your emails and comments - am sorry for this but will catch up soon.
Have a good day,
Michelle

Friday finds.........

On Friday I headed to New Plymouth to get my Christmas photos of the boys developed and some photos I took at the Fringe garden festival to enter into a competition.  While there I decided to have a quick look at the Op shops and what wonderful finds I have..............................
This is my beautiful tree from Hospice, it had a price tag on the box
of $180, it has real looking tips and I only paid $10! This was a bargain
and is going to look great in Ben's room.
This box is going to have a plant in it.
This little enamel Poe is going in the bath room.

This old biscuit tin was too cute to pass by and of course some more .................

It was a great day and I was very happy with my finds.  Have a great Tuesday, Michelle.

Kindred Heart Stitchers

We met on Thursday for our monthly meet.  And as usual not alot of work was done ! (too much chatter-I love it!) Of course we had to start with a cuppa and then show and tell.  Our project this month was something with a heart - mainly because we finally named our group!

Now this is Michelle's project.
I just love the grape vine wreath! Very shabby chic, very dam cute!!

Now Claire managed 2 projects, this very yummy lemon and rose cake and this very cool rustic heart candle holder!!

This is Nicky's beautiful doll, love it!

I made a doily heart, not sure I like it.
But will hang in the craft room anyway.  I never took any photos
but I made the girls doily bowls.  I see Michelle has a photo on her blog so
jump over and have a look here.

We also gave Nicky afew birthday gifts we all made
as it was her birthday the day before! She was alittle
surprised!!
We then ventured outside for a garden tour and then back inside for lunch.  We finished the
day by feeding Rex some bread and Nicky's little girl Jay feeding Turbo.

It was another great day, with wonderful company, good food and alot of laughs. I so look forward to our monthly meets.
Have a great day, Michelle.

NEW unit

I am so proud to show you all some photos of a kitchen unit my son has made me at school.  It all started at the beginning of the school year in woodwork class, when Ben had to get a client and design something that included a pull out draw.  So of course I jumped at the chance!  It is rather big.........................but we are not going to be in this house for ever and when I get a big kitchen of my own this will be my work station in the centre.

There was some dilemma about fitting thru the door!
I love the handles, they have that old aged look.
So it has made it inside and now I just have to rearrange the furniture so it will fit!  I am so proud of him.  He has done a fabulous job!!!  And the good news..........................next year my other son is taking wood............yes I need to get the brain thinking of what he could make me !!!!!!!
Well better go I have furniture to move and stitching projects for tomorrow to finish as the girls are coming here and food to prepare!!!!
Have a great Wednesday, Michelle.

HOOPS HAVEN

For the past 10 days Taranaki has been hosting their annual Rhododendron /fringe garden festival.  It has been a mixed bag of wet and fine weather.  But on Wednesday, my Mum and friend Ruth headed to Waverley to see 'Hoops Haven'.  what a beautiful garden and really big.  Stephen and his wife Viv are very talented gardeners and crafts people.  The mosaics are done by Viv and all wooden creations are by Stephen.  This is now one of my favourites in Taranaki.

These are some of my favourite photos.

 Love this 'Wally the weta'.

I know this is photo heavy (sorry) but I thought it was worth a look.
Have a great day Michelle.
