My new chook

Do you like my new black and white CHOOK ?? It's a little bit larger than the average chook !   I am not sure how he is going to get out , it must have been a rather tight squeeze to get in !

And this gorgeous old rusty tin is what Claire gave me last week, I have now given it a new purpose!
Now I am off back out to my craft room to keep tiding it up, I can now at least get in the door !
Enjoy your Thursday, Michelle.

In my hoop.....

I have this Santa that is almost finished ! It was a pattern out of a Homespun magazine, all that needs to be done now is a button on the end of his hat and penny's around the outside.
And this is in my hoop it a pattern by the great Kathy Schmitz - Thee and Me, Family tree.   I do love this designer !!
As you can see, still a long way to go !  I am stitching in black, so providing I don't get too bored it shouldn't take too long, although there is alot of stitching on this, so I might revise that last statement.............. it will take awhile.

Last night I was a little late feeding my calves but got some beautiful photo's.  The full moon certainly helped with light that I needed.  Hope you all have a great weekend, Michelle.

This old window is now..................

a new display shelf !  I brought this old window from a wrecking yard, I thought it was beautiful and I can't write what hubby thought of it !!  So off to a hardware store to buy a shelf and some brackets and some big screws so I could screw it to the wall.  So now it displays a shearing statue, photos, shearing hand pieces and tools, bale hook, branding stencil, hand shears and rusty old cutters !
I love it !!
Enjoy what ever the day brings you, Michelle.

Amost a week !!

It's been almost a week since I held KHS here!  Thought I better blog about it, as I have yet to find some time to craft !  Last month our challenge was a swag and no I did not do my challenge but the girls made a lovely job of their swags.  It was such a great day catching up.  We also gave Michelle her birthday pressies which was a month late as we didn't meet last month.  I also forgot to take photo's!  Hopefully this month will be more productive?

Michelle's welcome swag.

This is Claire's, its made out of old hankies and broaches.

Are these not gorgeous old broaches.

This one reminds me of my Great Nana Cool.

These are Nicky's paper swags.

This is a bow tie quilt Claire has finished.
It is gorgeous!

Have a great day, Michelle.

Cinderberry Stitches- Bella Babushka

It is almost the middle of August and this is my 1st post for the month - can't believe how fast time is flying.  This is a busy time of year for us on the farm.  We have got cows calving and so far I am feeding about 90 calves.

But in the odd minute or two I have been able to finish this, it's a pattern by Natalie Lymer.  I must admit it is not a pattern I would normally do, it's quite pretty but I had a vision of sewing it in black, white and raspberry.  I am really happy with the finish and the quilt.

The pet sheep have also lambed, this old girl in the front is Ally, she is 10years old  and she had the twins in the photo, and the other girl is Fiona and she is about 7 years old, she had a single lamb this year.
Well I better and start getting ready to go and feed my calves. enjoy your day, Michelle.

I'm back and have one question for the Gold Coast..............where is the SUN?????? We where there for 10 days and they only gave us one day of sunshine!!  We had a fantastic trip the boys won the 7's trophy and we went thru the tournament unbeaten and hence won the trophy for the under 18 red division.  We went from this beautiful back drop to the mud and rain!

I have been home a week and its been fairly busy, with sport and we have cows calving..... early! But I had a wee mum moment this week as Ben had his first school ball.......................

This is Tatiara, his date to the ball, he looked handsome and she looked gorgeous.  Well I better go and do some housework it is long over due!  Have a great day, Michelle.

I need to pack a bag

And I do, on Thursday we are flying to Auckland for the night and then early Friday morning we will meet up with a bus full of 26 boys and a few brave parents who hopefully will survive the bus trip of about 6/7 hours!!!!.  I think all up there are 50 of us going on this trip.  We are heading to the Gold Coast where the boys will compete in the 'Rugby Carnival 2012'.  There has been alot of fun raising to make this posible and they are all excited ! For some it is the first time over seas. So I really need to get my 2 boys really-clothes, rugby boots, mouth guards, tooth brush-hopefully this will get used !!  And then there is getting me and hubbie packed !  I so don't feel like it at the moment I have got a pretty mean head cold and sore throat.
While I am away a family friends daughter is having a 21st and I was asked to make the cake but I will be in Oz which is only a small problem !!  So instead her mum is going to make the cake all I had to do was make a cow, sheep and horse to go on the top !  I think they kinda look like what they are supposed too..................

So I'll be away for about 10 days, hopefully the weather will be fine but not too hot for the boys to play rugby in.  See you all when I get back, Michelle.
