With a watchful eye

With the supervising eye of  Honeybee Bear I have finished the top of my new nephew Kai's cot quilt.  It was a really quick and easy pattern to follow and make.

I am going to get a local lady to quilt it for me, a simple all over pattern on it I think, maybe planes or clouds?  It now looks like Kai will be this for Christmas after all!!
Enjoy your weekend what ever you are up too!

Stitchery

I started these back in May, it is an old Bronwyn Hayes pattern, oldie but a goodie!  I used a DMC thread that goes from a pale grey to dark grey then to a black!  It is my new favorite thread!
It is good to have a half finish!

Room reveal

I am finally sharing my room reveal, it should of been done at the beginning of the week but things where so busy here!  Above is my room before we painted it and although the picture is not that flash  the wall paper was pastel pink, blue and green and was so NOT me!
So my new room..........................
I know this photo is not that great either but is shows my new wall paper and my BIG bed.

This is to hold a new little quilt-soooooon!!!

Ironically the paint is called 'Stock yard' and although it looks white in the photos it is a pale caramel colour.  But I am very pleased and love the way it has come together.  This may sound funny but I love my new home but it hasn't really felt like home until now, now that I have put my own mark on it, I am pleased to say it now feels like our HOME!!!
Hope your week is going well,
Michelle.

Hang it !

Yes hang it was the challenge for this months KHS and hang it we did!
This is my attempt at hang it, a recycled draw front with colorful nobs to hang my necklaces on.

This was Michelle's garden hang it-love it!

This was Claire's hang it, a beautiful Halloween bunting!
Nicky's hang it was a bag, still in the making process but very cute!

Nancy does not do our challenges but brings along her finished projects done in the month and this month was these gorgeous Santa sacks-I think there was actually about 8 of them, she is a machine!!
It was a great catch up - as always!  I am looking forward to next months at Michelle's and the challenge if you are interested......................... is 'polka dots'.
Have a great night, Michelle.

Ladies Night

On Tuesday night my friend Julie and I headed off to New Plymouth for a ladies night with 'Farmlands'- Farmlands is a national wide rural retail store which sells all things farming.  Every year they  put on a night for the farm ladies!  They have had chefs, fashion consultants, style doctors and I can't remember what else but you get the idea.  This year was right up my alley they had Astar a craft wizard.  For all kiwi's gals we know who she is, she has been on our TV's screens on the Good Morning show since 1998.  She is a trained florist by trade but is very talented at what ever she puts her hand too!  Well, Tuesday night we made a wreath......................
. This photo looks very pink but it is actually RED.  I have put lights through mine which looks really cool I did take a photo but you can't see them!  (I also might add silver to it for Christmas.)  She also showed us many other ideas with wreaths.  I best mention that I also went with Mum and four of her friends also.  Great night ladies, so much fun, - great company -great food!!

Julie dropped me off at 10.45 pm (this is late for Julie and I as our alarms go off real early to milk the cows! and we are Grandmas really-we go to bed early!!)  And my hubby was still up, he had a surprise for me, he had organised painters to come the next morning to paint and hang wall paper in our bedroom, this was a surprise as I was going to do this myself and had not got around to it yet.  I had the paint and wall paper but lacked the drive at this time of year to do it!!  This did cause some panic as they where to arrive at 8 am and the room was still full of furniture!!
Process so far,  more pictures to come!!!
Have a great day, Michelle.

Wagon wheel delight !

Last Friday, much to my delight Cody finished his wood working project at school and brought it home for me to put in my garden!  I was so thrilled, he made such a fabulous job!  And I knew straight away the perfect place for his master piece!
I know I am so lucky that I have 2 sons and 1 husband who have skills and talent!
Enjoy your weekend,
Michelle.
