for Julie,

Not a very good photo, was quickly taken on my phone! This dear wee chap was a birthday present for my friend Julie, we both share a love of snowmen!  I  have also made her a fairy wishes jar'',  at the moment she is in Australia visiting her son Jamie, so I will give it to her on her return.

Once I finished Julie's, I thought I would make one for myself, which is very different to Julies.

But I am pleased with both!  Been stitching and doing some secret sewing for a Christmas in July swap I have joined, so will be able to show more of that soon!  '

The weather here in Taranaki has been shocking, and my thoughts are with all the locals who are caught up in the floods.  On average we as a region got 280-300 mls of rain in 36 hours!  The damage is mind blowing!!
Take care everyone,
Michelle

Almost

Yes this is an almost finish, I started this in December (before I hurt my hand) and all I had done was the verse in the middle and upon seeing it last week hanging out of my stitching basket, I pulled it out and decided to finish it! So it is almost finished, I need to find a frame and frame it!  I have also been doing some secret stitching, but being secret means I can't show you!! -well not till July!
I do hope your Wednesday is nicer than mine in the 'naki'?

Bring on the sunshine!

Well the rain has finally stopped, it has been fairly wild here in the 'naki' for the past couple of days. We got 120 mls in a matter of hours yesterday, so it is wet under foot at the moment, but is wonderful to see sunshine today!
So while the weather has kept me inside I have been doing a spot of painting! Have I told you how much I LOVE chalk paint, yes I know I have!  A newly painted suitcase and jars for the lounge window, is just what was needed I think!

Not sure which I love more, true colour or sepia?

Well it is Friday which means the weekend starts tomorrow and we all love weekends!  So have a fabulous weekend and enjoy what ever the weekend brings you!

At last some finishes !!

Yesterday I was supposed to be going to Claire's for a KHS day, but because everyone else pulled out for various reasons and the weather being atrocious, I stayed home!  I was so disappointed I really wanted to catch up with everyone!
But I decided to have a sewing day anyway and was very productive by all accounts, even if I say so myself!

So I finally finished my pillows ( the three above) , I got some stitchery's traced out and some time was spent trying to sort out a new applique method!  Plus I did watch a DVD with my son!  All in all it was still a nice day!  Did I mention my son also shouted lunch!

But this meeting was a birthday month as well and it was Nancy's birthday and I can show you what I made Nancy because she doesn't follow my blog, I made her a candle mat out of the muddy colors she likes and a nice smelling candle.
It was all in all still a great day!  I hope your day is going well,
Michelle

Just a little stitching.

Bloggers are such wonderful people!  I would firstly like to thank Julie from mythreadbearlife.blogspot.co.nz for a beautiful card and tags!  I think the connections we have as crafts women and bloggers is precious!
My house has been tipped upside down since Thursday as we had a pipe burst behind the shower and water everywhere!  Thanks goodness for insurance!  So hopefully soon, real soon our bathroom will be back in working order!

Just a little stitching at the moment, above is my first two blocks for our KHS monthly challenge, this year we are doing a BOM -Bronwyn Hayes.  The other stitchery's are Betsy's closet in stitchery.  I only have 4 to go, they are really quick to do!  (just noticed on my KHS 2nd block I haven't finished, I still have the window box to applique!)

And over the weekend our son had a shear in the novice at the Taranaki shears, he got 5th!  We were stoked for him!
I can't believe that tomorrow is the 1st April, is it me or does time fly faster the older you get??
Enjoy your week,
Michelle.

Esperance Australia

I need your help, my wonderful Australian bloggers!  I have a son in Esperance who is driving tractors and they don't work weekends, so I was wondering what there is to do in Esperance?  Or even surrounding towns?  I need some local know how?  I would appreciate any help to stop the boredom.
Thanks in advance, Michelle

I AM BACK !!!  It seems like for ever since I last posted and it was................way back in December!  I feel my mojo coming back and am ready to craft in 2015!  Since I last posted I got my hand kicked by a cow and had nerve damage, which put me out of action for about three weeks, it was actually really hard to deal with, there was so much I wanted and needed to do,  but I just had to sit and wait for it to come right and slowly it has! I think the hardest was when my new nephew was over from Singapore for Christmas and picking him up was painful, but I did it anyway (paid the price at night when it would ache!) He was so cute and worth the pain!

We have also had 2 KHS meetings, one of which was my birthday month. Below are my gifts, I was so spoilt!  Love birthday month!!
Above and below is what Nick gave me!
Recycled booties is there anything more cooler?  And before
rumors start I ain't in the family way!!!!
Nancy made me this beautiful stitchery pillow!
Michelle (with hubby's help-thanks) made this fab blackboard,
which  has been used for a birthday and a welcome!  So love it!
Claire brought me these industrial looking bottles,
which now have hydrangeas in them.
So that is a very brief catch up and although I have been away from my blog I have still kept up with you all in blog land!  You are all incredibly inspiring, keep up your fabulous work ladies!
