I am finally back online, I have been off line for over three and half weeks, sadly my computer died!!  So lots has been happening but not in the craft line!  The farm we have been leasing for the past five years was sold, in December so in January, we sold the cows (but we have kept milking till yesterday and we don't move till the 31 May!), we decided to start looking for a house to buy!  The first house we viewed we fell in love with but we kept on looking to see what was out there but still kept coming back to the first one!  And finally in February we made an offer and it was excepted!  This will be our very first home of our own!  For the past 22 years we have lived in share milking houses-these are farm houses that go with the jobs!  So we are now finally getting excited, 15 days till we move!!!!!  Photo below is the house and we also have 10 acres(-we need all of that for all the pets!!)
So I have been packing, packing, packing........................................................
 More packing...............................................................no crafting!!!!
To those who commented on wee Flick some time ago, sorry I did not reply as the computer was dead, but above is a photo of the cute wee Flick feeding and the other is the now chewing monster but still cute Flick!  She spends her day with me, she has been on many travels already, even a trip to Te Kuiti - 3 hours one way, don't think she enjoyed that so much as it was too much time in the ute, she really likes short trips!
I am slowly catching up with everyone's blogs! There is so much reading, love what everyone is doing, very inspiring, can't wait to move and unpack so I can use my sewing machine again, am missing it! But today is KHS !  Am really looking forward to this! Especially having a catch up and NO packing!!
Take care Michelle.

Little Flick

This dear wee pup now has the name 'Flick'.  She was a surprise from our heading dog (farm working dog breed) Gin, she was born last Tuesday and her mum died on the Thursday, so yours truly has become her full time mum - for now!  The first few days was feeds every 2 hours, now we are feeding every 3 hours and I must admit that my own baby is 17 now, so these night feeds has me with big black bags under my eyes!!  I have lots of volunteers for cuddles and the odd feeding but funny enough NONE for the feeds after 10 pm!!!

As Flick was the only pup to survive I made a quick trip to the Op shop and brought her this teddy, best $1 investment ever!  She now has some company and someone to cuddle at night!  So not a lot else has been going on, I have been packing madly -well in between feeds and started a new stitchery.  I brought the linen and thread last month, not sure on it yet, but will finish this block and see what I think?  Do love the thread, it a black through to a grey.
Keeping myself busy,
Michelle.

Challenge results......

Do you remember the above items?  These are the items for this months challenge and yesterday we met at Claire s for the big reveal.  I would firstly like to say I am glad we only do these kind of challenges once a year, because it took ages to decide what to do and as usual I left mine to the last minute!  (maybe it is the head cold!!)  So lets see the results.....................................
These are my goodies.

Nicky's.

Nicky's

Michelle's.

And lucky last Claire's.
Don't you just love the bust on Claire's project?  What else could you do with the polystyrene ball??  And speaking of Claire, as usual we had a wonderful day and a gorgeous lunch-all recipes from Pinterest-we love being her pinterest piggy's!  And then we all went to a new quilt shop in Hawera ( spent some money, you can never have enough fabric!!! ) it was a great way of finishing the day!  But I am little worried about Claire, I think she is loosing the plot at long last................have a look at the picture below, this is her tree outside her house she is decorating????
Well that's all for me today folks, hope you are having a wonderful Thursday.

Verdigris workshop

On Wednesday morning, myself, my friend Julie, (below)
and my Mum (below)

we went to a very cool shop called 'Verdigris Creative Studio' (in Stratford) and did a workshop.  It was a great morning and I think we plan on heading back and doing more workshops.
So we each painted the outside hearts and we all did tissue paper on our centre hearts.  They are all so different, but really easy.

Well not sure were the week has gone, but it Friday already.  Enjoy your weekend and for those reader's in the 'Naki' it is a long weekend for us!   I really enjoyed Wednesday, great company and lots of laughs, I think we need to do more of this! (sorry about the photo's Julie and Mum-well actually I am not!!!)

A challenge for March

At our last KHS meeting we all had to bring along 3 items each to collectively put together for our March challenge.  So above is a picture of my items (we all have the same), and during the next couple of weeks before our next meeting I have to turn them into something amazing................................I wonder what the other girls are doing??????  So we have pegs, pearls, coat hanger, teaspoon, fabric, a zip, bell, doily, crocheted flowers, polystyrene ball, hankie, and a ugly plastic flower-thanks Claire!!!  I love these challenges, just seeing what everyone else comes up with! I almost forgot to mention, it doesn't have to be one project, it can be as many as you need! -Wish me luck!
I am going to have to get my head into this one??????
Enjoy your weekend, Michelle.

KHS for Jan and Feb

Life is getting in the way of my blogging!  So I have a wee bit of catching up too do!  KHS meeting in January was great, it was held at Nicky's and as usual we had great food!  With some laughs and some tears also as Claire's dog Finn Linn died!
Our theme was tin for the month and sorry I did not take photo's of everyone's projects as I was side tracked as it was my birthday month but I did take photo's of my gifties!  Above is a pair of  rusty tin angels my friend Julie and her hubby Rolly gave me! (I cheated and took these along as my project as I ran out of time to do something!!)  I love them!

These are gift's from Michelle, I was very spoilt!  She made
the tin stars as her project for the month and gave them to me!!

These are from Nancy-needle case and tea towel-love them!
They are so me!

Nicky's, can you see the wax ornaments by the angel?
She also potted the plant below in the very cool old
edmonds tin!

And lucky last Claire decorated this very cool
bucket for me!  Notice the stencilled number, this
is to remind me of the year I was born!

We have also had our February meeting, which was paper!  It was held at Nancy's and more yummy food and laughs.  Lucky we take along some crafts other wise we would be a food appreciation group!!!
Claire spray painted this and decorated with paper
tags.

Nicky had this very cool old lamp shade.  I
will show when finished!

Michelle's is unfinished but will be made into a pillow.
below is a close up- very clever idea- she has sewn
the fabric to look like paper!!  Then stitched a verse.

And I covered this wooden bird with paper and then poured
resin on it!

This was also a month of finishing quilts!  Well done girls they are all gorgeous!  I hope you have all stuck with me, I know it is a bit photo heavy but worth it I think!
Enjoy what is left of your weekend, Michelle.
